Biblical Christian Economics
A Christian Worldview of Economics
Economics is more than the study of money and markets. Economic systems are built upon assumptions about human nature, property, work, government, justice, wealth, poverty, and the purpose of life.
A biblical worldview begins with the recognition that God is the Creator and owner of all things. Human beings are made in God’s image and are called to exercise faithful dominion over creation, work diligently, care for others, practice justice, and steward the resources God has entrusted to them.
The Bible addresses economic subjects such as property, work, wages, debt, lending, taxation, wealth, poverty, generosity, business, honest weights and measures, government, and stewardship. Christians should therefore evaluate economic theories and policies in light of biblical principles while also understanding sound economic reasoning and historical evidence.
The resources below provide Christian teaching, biblical financial instruction, economic education, and additional resources for studying economics from a Christian worldview.

Christian Worldview & Economics
Economic systems ultimately involve questions about human nature, morality, property, government, justice, freedom, and the purpose of life. These are worldview questions.
Christians should therefore examine both the economic evidence and the worldview assumptions behind competing economic theories.
A Christian can learn from a secular economist’s analysis of prices, incentives, markets, inflation, or government intervention without accepting that economist’s entire philosophy. Likewise, Christians should not assume that an economic policy is biblical merely because it is promoted by someone who identifies as a Christian.
The goal is to develop the ability to think economically and biblically at the same time.
